Webinar recording: Trauma Informed Justice - A System Level Transformation in Kenora Rainy River
On January 11, 2017, system partners in Kenora Rainy River presented the sixth webinar in the INTERVENTIONS IN PRACTICE webinar series, highlighting evidence-informed interventions implemented as part of the Systems Improvement through Service Collaboratives (SISC) initiative.
In this Webinar, participants:
- learned how system partners in Kenora Rainy River are becoming educated on the effects of trauma to avoid re-traumatizing justice-involved youth and promote pathways to resiliency and recovery;
- discussed the intervention components, including the GAIN-SS screening tool, improving cultural awareness, a Youth Justice and Mental Health System map in partnership with Canadian Mental Health Association Kenora Branch, and a trauma-informed agency protocol; and
- described the implementation and scale-up of this intervention across the Kenora Rainy River district.
